Funding Assistance Opportunity
As of 9-21-2020
The City and Borough of Wrangell (City) is offering a series of programs of economic relief for businesses, non-profits and residents in Wrangell, Alaska who have been impacted by the COVID-19 Pandemic. Eligibility criteria for the business grants have been expanded. A new program is now available to eligible households. The City has designated up to $915,000 of the CARES Act funds received from the State of Alaska to these assistance programs which are intended to provide economic relief in the areas of most need. Each program will require a separate application be completed by each business, non-profit or resident.
Each program application provides eligibility requirements and identifies the supporting information to be submitted. Any changes to the criteria or eligibility are listed in the application. All programs are a first-come, first-serve basis until the program funds have been expended. Paper copies are also available at City Hall. If you applied previously and were approved for the Targeted Visitor Industry Relief Program or the Small Business Emergency Relief program, payment for the difference in the amount you received and now being offered in the programs will be sent to you automatically. Please give staff two weeks to issue checks.
The City’s goal is to keep the application process as simple as possible, while also meeting the justification required by the fund source. Please email questions to email@example.com and provide a phone number. Staff will respond by email or phone as quickly as possible (but could take up to 72 hours).
